This charming eatery offers a warm atmosphere alongside a menu bursting with flavorful creations. The Green Goat elevates the dining experience with its unique blend of comfort food and healthier options, making it a perfect spot for both casual outings and special occasions.

At the heart of The Green Goat's allure are its signature dishes that perfectly balance taste and ingenuity. Take the Firebox Wrap, for instance, a delightful tortilla filled with fried or grilled chicken, crisp lettuce, and zesty Buffalo sauce. Priced at just $12.99, it's a satisfying wrap that pairs beautifully with homemade chips. On the other hand, if you're in the mood for burgers, the Cow Catcher Burger—grilled to perfection and topped with pimento cheese and bacon—will give your taste buds a satisfying burst of flavor. Each burger, also $12.99, is complemented by a fresh brioche roll that adds a touch of indulgence.

But the experience does not end with the mains. The Green Goat excels at appetizers too, with items like Bacon & Bleu Cheese Waffle Fries, which are decadently covered in crispy bacon and rich bleu cheese. It's the kind of comfort food that almost feels like a warm hug. For a lighter start, their Eggplant Fries with Sriracha bistro sauce are a crunchy delight that proves healthier options can be delicious.

The friendly staff, including the owner and chef who often circulate among tables, demonstrates a commitment to excellent service that enhances your visit. Although service can sometimes vary—particularly on bustling weekends during their breakfast buffet—most diners leave satisfied, often recalling their meals long after the plates have been cleared.

Individual dishes, from the spectacular cheesecake options to the savory fried green tomato BLT, showcase the care and creativity behind each plate. Customers have raved about the flavors and presentation, highlighting that even picky eaters will find joy in every bite. And let's not forget the pet-friendly outdoor patio, which has earned the hearts of dog owners looking to enjoy a meal alongside their furry friends.

I love this place, it’s near the greenway. In the summer after a walk, you can pop in for a beer. They have everything you could want. Staff is amazing.

Food was good, atmosphere was great, service was only ok. It might have been because we went on a Sunday when they have a breakfast buffet and we were ordering food. The hostess was nice and helpful but our server was hard to flag down. Never filled up my drink. Brought my check before we finished ordering. The cheesecake was AMAZING! We tried the banana pudding and s’more cheesecakes and both were top notch!

Simple but personable. The owner is the chef and the wife is the bartender. It showed in the food. Unique and tasty

Don't want to miss this place! This was such an outstanding cute little tuck away. With the trail right next to the restaurant, it made for the cutest atmosphere. The food was amazing and so much flavor. I don't have a single complaint about the food. We had the hummus tray to start with and yummm! Even my 10 year old who hates hummus chowed down. He had a pepperoni pizza which was delicious and the look was fabulous! I had the fried green tomato BLT and that was made to perfection and my husband had the Reuben that he just couldn't put down. Sides included: the slaw and it did have a kick, sweet potato tots that were the perfect amount of crispy on the outside, Mac salad made fresh, and waffles fries for that comfort food. Thank you to the kind gentleman that served us cuz his wait skills were top notch! Not just to us, but to everyone he was waiting on. Can't wait to tell my friends about this place. And what a fun name.

Great food with healthier options. Salads are great. The price is very reasonable and they were so good to our dog who ate with us on the patio!

I got the Derail with a gluten free wrap and Asian slaw. It was absolutely delicious! JJ and Nicole are always outstanding waitresses! I'm very thankful to have a safe place to eat at in Roanoke.

Eating an affordable lunch outside on a deck with friends, in this spring weather? YES please! I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, the homemade chips are always a hit. My friend ordered a pizza, and beware they are not single serving size, she had a lot to take home after and it was pretty good as well. Food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely (will be even better once the bridge has finished construction). Service is noticeably slower, so wouldn't recommend if you're in a hurry but was a perfect spot to catch up with friends and not feel rushed. The green goat is my go to for those perfect afternoons.

This place was great! Bethany, our attendant, was fantastic. She warned us out might be a year slow, because they were short staffed, but we didn't even notice a delay. I used to visit this place when it was the Transportation Museum before the Flood of '85, so it's wonderful to see the location revitalized.
